All Abilities Fun Fest Week

Print Making Workshop

Thursday, 3rd December

10am – 12pm

 

This activity is part of the City’s All Abilities Funfest to acknowledge International Day of People with Disability 2020.

 

Disability in the Arts, Disadvantage in the Arts, Australia (DADAA) presents this workshop suitable for all levels and abilities and no prior print-making or arts experience is necessary. Artsworkers will guide you through the process of print-making.

Lego Lounge

Pop in and hand out building and creating with our bucket loads of lego!

ACROD Parking Campaign Launch -Hosted by City of Belmont

The City will be launching the ACROD Parking Program which is part of a state-wide initiative to raise awareness of the use of ACROD parking bays. ACROD parking permits are issued based upon a person’s ability to walk.

 

Trishaw rides around Faulkner Park

This activity is part of the City’s All Abilities Funfest - Want to feel the wind through your hair but can no longer ride a bike yourself? Come along for a 10 minute ride around Faulkner Park on a trishaw ebike piloted by volunteer cyclists providing by Cycle without Age.

Seated Dance Class

This activity is part of the City’s All Abilities Funfest -Lifespan Dance Classes are seated dance classes which are endorsed by Dance for Parkinson’s and led by qualified dance professionals. Join us for these joyful and creative classes give participants a sense of freedom and fun in a supported and safe space!

Early Years Fun and Frolic

This activity is part of the City’s All Abilities Funfest to acknowledge International Day of People with Disability 2020.

A range of inclusive children's activities will be provided which include games, a ‘ chill out’ space, lego play and much more!

 

Story time session  of Zac’s Game plan (with Auslan interpretation)

By Author & Storyteller Ewan Fowles and supported by Mission Australia

“Zac’s Game Plan” is about Zac, who is a strong willed young man who loves football and dreams of playing for the AFL but not without some struggles along the way. The book dives into the challenges young people may have with disabilities.  ‘No matter what you face in life or the challenges it brings you, stay strong and never give up on your dreams’.

Low Impact Yoga

This activity is part of the City’s All Abilities Funfest to acknowledge International Day of People with Disability 2020.

Come and join in the make Your Move yoga program is low impact yoga which promotes movements for all abilities and ages and practises mindfulness.

 

“How to Grow a Plant from Cuttings” demonstration

 

Friday, 4th December

1.00pm – 2.00 pm

This activity is part of the City’s All Abilities Funfest.

 

Belmont City College staff and students will demonstrate how to grow a plant from cuttings and also discuss their experiences from creating and growing their own nursery at the school.

Join Lifespan Dance for a fun and creative dance class for everyone! The dance workshop aims to give participants a sense of freedom and fun in a supported and safe space!

 

We will also have our joyfully colourful Rainbow Flower Fairies who love to paint using all the colours of the rainbow and their favourite canvas to paint is you!

 The Living Garden by Belmont City College will be open to visit during all sessions

Sensory Room  - hosted by St Judes Health Care Services is provided to offer a place to  visit if you, a family member, or a friend are feeling overwhelmed and need a safe place to calm and refocus. You can also visit to have fun, explore different sensory items, have a chat to the team or ask about support services.
