Principal's Post
Dear Parents and Carers,
We are trialling a new format of the newsletter this term. Every two weeks you will get a newsletter which will focus on one class – its Green Room's turn this time. In the past we have linked the assembly items to the newsletter, but as we are only having two assemblies this term Pink, Green, Blue and Orange on the 28th August and Yellow, Aqua, Purple and Silver on the 25th September, that wasn’t going to work, so we are trialling a newsletter every two weeks.
Depending on the phase of COVID19 restrictions, when we get to the Assembly days we may have to restrict the numbers of parents attending. But I will confirm that nearer the time.
Last Friday we had our cross country and it was wonderful to see how well all our students did and how much enthusiasm they put into their efforts – also our staff, many of whom ran with their class! There are a few photos from the day with this newsletter. A big thank you to Matt McMillan, Sue Rawlings from the Primary School and Shane Higgs from our school for organising the event. Also thank you to all the families and carers who turned up to support and observing the restrictions we had to put into place.
Our next big event is the sausage sizzle fund raiser for the Year 5 and 6 Leadership. We have almost 400 orders for sausages, I will put some photos into the next newsletter.
We have Father’s Day Breakfast coming up very soon, 4th September. Please keep an eye out in your child’s bag for an order form early next week. This will be a combined event with the Primary School so we will have to make sure we are meeting the restrictions for COVID19 – keep your fingers crossed for a fine day.
Finally, I have included with my newsletter a piece of Art work completed by Abu in Yellow Room – I think he has caught the likeness of a lot of our staff extremely well.
