Aqua Room News
What a busy start to the year! The Aqua room is a hive of activity with students settling wonderfully into classroom routines. A major focus we have implemented in our classroom apart from our daily curriculum-based learning is how to become waste wise. Every Tuesday the Aqua students embark on their recycling journey visiting all classrooms within Cloverdale Education Support Centre including the administration buildings and the library to collect paper and cardboard recyclable materials. Our next step is to look into co-mingled recycling in readiness for the Cash for Can/Bottles program this year through the waster organization. Further information on this will follow in the next few weeks.
For the assembly item, Aqua students practices frequently with a lot of enthusiasm and did a wonderful job in their assembly item along with their colleagues from Purple room. Well done to you all. We are very proud of each and every one of you.
One of the great opportunities has been streaming the students into different groups to learn a subject in another class. This means that each students has the opportunity to learnt Humanities and Social Sciences in Purple room with Mrs Derby, Measurement and Geometry in Orange room with Mrs Williams and Science with Mrs Haouchar. This has been a very enriching experience for students as they transition into different classes and mingle with other peers. They have been thoroughly enjoying this.
Aqua staff and students are grateful to have a fabulous new Interactive Smartboard installed in week 2. We have been enjoying using it to learn a variety of concepts and skills in the various learning areas.
Our favourite time of the week is Thursday during Music Rocks where staff get to enjoy watching the students practice a variety of musical instruments to a song of their choice. The students are always excited to see Music Rocks on their Visual Timetable!
We have been working on our Art display for Harmony Day and even started looking into Easter Art. Please feel free to come by to the Wet Area in Teaching Block 2 and enjoy viewing our fabulous Art displays. Thank you to the wonderful Aqua Support Staff members Mrs Higgs and Miss K for their ideas, resources, time and enthusiasm.
We have all had a fantastic start to the year and we look forward to the year ahead!
