Green Room News
The green room has had a great start to the year. Over the last three weeks we have done a lot of exploring.
Week 1:
In Literacy, we revised our sounds ‘s’ and ‘a’ and even made some amazing artwork (S is for Snakes and A is for Apple Stamping). In Maths, we worked on ordering our numbers from 1 – 20. Finally, in our fine motor skills lesson we worked on our cutting skills.

Week 2:
In Science we have been exploring our five senses. So the Green Room went on a nature walk to explore our senses of sight, touch, smell and hearing. In Maths, we explored our 2D shapes and sorted them into correct groups. Finally, we worked on our writing by having some fun with spelling our names in chalk outside our room.

Week 3:
In Literacy, we have been working on sounding out all the sounds in particular words (such as, sat, mat, pin, tin etc.) by using picture cards and writing mats. In Maths, we have been working on connecting number names to the number and our one-to-one correspondence. Lastly, we had a special treat during our exploration in Science, we decorated biscuits and explored the feeling of the icing, sprinkles and biscuits, discussed what the ingredients looked like and, at the very end, we were really lucky and got to explore our sense of taste by getting to eat them and discussing whether it was sweet or sour, yummy or yucky.
