It’s the end of Term 3 – how did that happen? This term has gone past so quickly. We have had some amazing event this term two week ago it was the colour run. I want to thank Lauren Manuel from the Primary School for organising it, it was a really fun event and the students were amazing. In total the Colour Run raised over $5000 which will go to towards the Graduation end of year celebrations and leadership activities.
On Saturday 14th September I attended a soccer match that was held in memory of Eli’s father.
Last Saturday was Badlands – Music Rocks concert it was an amazing event and the students were outstanding we have some real rock stars in school. My thanks to Matt Davey for representing the school on that day.
On Friday it was also the Faction Carnival. All the students from both schools did so well and should be so proud of themselves. It was a huge day for staff and students and I know that everyone was absolutely shattered by the end of it. A big thank you to all the staff but particularly to Matt Macmillan and Shane Higgs for do the majority of the organising.
As we approach term 4 there are always things that crop up one of those is the need register for the School Bus Service. This is the notice from the School Bus Service for 2020

Term 4 dates
The planner for next term is attached to this newsletter but there are a couple of things that will happen in the first week.
Carers Morning Tea
Heather Dillan who is part of the P&C has won a grant for Lotteries West and Carers WA to put on a morning tea. We have chosen Tuesday, 15th October for the morning tea. More information will be coming out very shortly. It will be open to 20 carers which is all our families, and it will be first come first served and there will be a nice morning tea and some massage therapists there to do free hand, shoulder and neck massages. Keep an eye out for the letter and make sure your RSVP. There currently are 8 places left so please make sure you respond quickly.
Swimming
Swimming starts on Wednesday 16th October many thanks to everyone who have already returned the permission slips. Our session is at 9:20am so we will be leaving here to walk down at 9:00am. Students will be in their swimmers and school jumper if it is cool. Depending on the weather we will either walk back and change in school as we have done in the past or we will all change at Belmont Oasis before we walk back. If you have any concerns, please talk to your class teacher.
International Day of Disability
Please put this date in your diary 3rd December it is going to start with a whole school assembly and families are welcome to come and join us from 12.30 for a picnic. The canteen will be open if you wish to purchase some food rather than bring your own picnic. There will be a sausage sizzle for all the students of both schools.
Showcasing STEAM
On Thursday, 15 August we showcased Cloverdale Education Supports Centre and our STEM work. It was really well received and we had lots of people come and visit our stall. On the 26th and 27th November we will also be showcasing the school at the Innovation Technology Expo. We will be the only Education Support Centre showcasing with about 200 exhibitors. It is at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre. It is a wonderful opportunity to show off what our students can achieve in the area and the amazing work our staff are doing, Sandy McNeill, Tegan Tentori and Maddy White will be presenting about our journey as a TDS in STEM.
