Kaya,
It was lovely to see so many of you at the assembly last week. Our next one is Friday, 27th August at 8.45am, and will be followed by a morning tea. Please come along and join us both for the assembly and the morning tea. There is no class item but we will have Silver class performing the Acknowledgement of Country and they will be joining me to sign the Australian National Anthem for the first time. We are also welcoming our new School Councillor, Zenel Cervoj and he will be receiving his badge.
The excursion on Tuesday to Jungle Gym was a huge success. I know that some of the students were sad not to be going to Cohuna Wildlife Park and seeing the Koalas, but all of them enjoyed being at the gym. So that they do not miss out on the excursion to Cohuna Wildlife park we will be trying again in Week 4 of Term 4 Wednesday 3rd November. The money that was raised by the P&C at the Bunning Sausage sizzle recently, was used to cover the cost of the trip to Jungle Gym this week, which means the money you paid for the Cohuna Wildlife Park will be carried over until then. My thanks again to all of you who came along and helped at the Sausage Sizzle it is lovely to be able to clearly identify where the money went and that all the students benefited from it.
We also had our first Fathering Project event. It was wonderful to see so many Dads, Grandads, Uncles and other father figures who come along to the launch. It was certainly a very good evening, we are still finding paper planes around the school. My thanks to the P&C for helping to organise the event and for getting the pizzas.
As I put out on See Saw, we need a couple of people who would be willing to become The Fathering Project representatives.
There is a lot of support for The Fathering Project organisation, the School and the P&C are here to help you with the Fathering Project. Please don’t feel you cannot do it, without a couple of representatives this project will not run, and judging by the numbers we had on Friday it would be a huge shame.
If you are interested, or even think you might be interested in being a Rep for The Fathering Project, please let anyone from the Education Support Admin know. Or if you have any questions – firstly have a look at The Fathering Project website, but if you're still unsure please do not hesitate to ask.

Many of you will have seen that the uniform shop has changed. We have moved to Uniform Concepts, they are open 6 days a week and you can order online. At the moment they have plenty of stock. For the parents of year 5 moving to year 6 next year we are working with the Primary School to develop a different Leavers shirts. Tthis will be completely different from the normal school uniform polo. We will have information regarding them early next term.
Also a gentle reminder that all students particularly those in the senior classes, need to be in their full school uniform, dark blue short/pants/ skirt, school polo and jacket, purple bucket hat.
Finally, from me, we are currently looking at our class groups and staffing for next year. If you know your circumstances are likely to change and your child will not be staying with us for 2022, please let me know as soon as possible. Also if you have family or friends who have children and they are thinking of sending them to us, please give them a gentle push in our direction.
This Term in the Green Room we have welcomed a few new team members into our classroom (Miss A and Mr B).
During Term 3 we have been and will continue to do cross setting sessions with the Gold and Pink Rooms. In our cross setting sessions we are doing Science and Technologies. In Science we are learning about the changes of matter (solid, liquid and gas) we are doing this by cooking and seeing how ingredients can change their matter. In Technologies this term we are learning about design technologies which means we are exploring our environment and what the environment provides through gardening.
In English this Term we have been looking at Fairy tales and working on retelling the story through picture cards and puppets!
In Week 2 of Term 3 the Green Room had an incursion with WADSA and were able to explore a lot of interactive toys and objects. WADSA is a wonderful organisation that provides our students to have fun and meaningful participation in sport and recreational activities. We had lots of fun!
Due to weather conditions we were unable to attend our excursion to the Cohuna Koala Park. However, we were lucky enough to go and spend some time on Tuesday afternoon at Jungle Gym. It was a lot of fun here are some photos from the event!
Blue Room has had a great start to Term 3. We have been really busy these last few weeks and have had some exciting activities to fit in.
We had the cross country in week 3 which everyone participated in! We do the cross country track as part of our morning fitness so it was very familiar to us. It was great to see everyone take part and enjoy racing each other.
We have begun music rocks this term and it turns out Blue Room is full of musicians! We get to play on the drums, the guitar, the keyboard and sing our favourite songs.
Our excursion to Cohuna Koala Park had to be cancelled due to weather, but that didn’t stop Blue Room from having a great time at Jungle Gym! There was a lot of equipment for us to go on and everyone tried something new that they may have never attempted before. Our class made so many green choices that day!
In our literacy sessions we are flying through our letters and sounds program and progressing each week. We are learning new and tricky sounds that are helping us read and harder words. For our math sessions we have started using the Origo Stepping Stones program, which is very engaging and fun for us all. We get to share our learning with our peers in different classes.
We are almost half way through the term already and have no doubts that this term will be fantastic!
